Wondering how this site works? We took a lot of time to make it work and look great for you, and we don't mind sharing how we made that happen. Below, we have listed everything we could think of that have made this site possible, from the ground up! We like giving credit where credit is do, and these products/people/services sure do deserve the credit!
Remember, all site content on jnrtraining.com is copyrighted. We ask you to please abide by the Terms and Conditions of this site, and do not copy the content we worked hard to produce. Thank you, and enjoy!
JnR Training is a firm believer in open standards and open source software. We use open source solutions as often as possible, and hope to run on completly open source software in the near future.
Notepad++ is used to code this site, and Filezilla is used to transfer the files to the server. All image editing is done with The GIMP. The jnrtraining.com website is hosted with DreamHost, which makes our site carbon-neutral. The site is coded in HTML5, CSS3, and PHP on an Apache server. Our intranet server is a Mac OS X Snow Leopard server, and our VoIP server runs CentOS Linux.
The JnR Training website is powered by Wordpress. The site's layout is based off of the wonderful Fazyvo theme. The calendar system is powered by our iCal server, and is displayed on the site thanks to the iCal Events Wordpress Plugin and Google Calendar. Contact Form 7 is the plugin used for our contact form. The cool lightbox effect used on things like this page is called Shadowbox-JS, and was embeded by the Shadowbox-JS Wordpress plugin.
Instead of image logos, the website uses the Cufon javascript library to produce the JnR Training logo in it's correct font. For the rest of the fonts on the site, the CSS attribute "font-face" is used, if your browser supports CSS3. The beautiful fonts we use for the site as well as other logos/projects are Droid Sans, Droid Serif, CartoGothic Std, Market Deco, BN Internet, and BlackJack.
Statistics are a very important part of our website. We use a combination of analog and Google Analytics to figure out where you guys are coming from. We then use that data to make our ads with Google AdWords more effective.
For our email, we use Google Apps. They take good care of us and provide our email, documents, and IM services. We use Google Voice for a few of our phone numbers, and the great Asterisk PBX for VoIP communications.
